New York to Sydney via Auckland
Gerri and I have checked in with Air New Zealand at JFK, and I’m now reporting from the business class lounge that ANZ shares with Lufthansa. I will probably not be able to post from the plane after we take off, so I will save all new entries and post them when I land in Auckland, making good use of the layover. Then it will be on to Sydney.
The above map, is the first leg of the route showing the crooked International Dateline. Depending on weather-related changes en route, you can go forward and back (in time) more than once on the same flight. If I’m awake at such a time, I’ll be curious to see how my Apple watch deals with it.The second leg, after a one hour or so layover in Auckland, is a mere 3.5 hour hop, skip, and jump to Sydney, Australia, which will hopefully seem like a quick up- and- down after the 17 hour flight from New York.
(A quick note: The order of the posts may appear with the newest post second after the Introduction. If you go to the Introduction, at the bottom of that post, the order of posts will be as I intended. Sorry about that.)
One response to “Day #1”
When I was in Fiji, I had no idea what time or day it was as it was before smart phone and I’m not sure I even took a phone with me knowing it wouldn’t work. That was… comical. Look forward to following your adventures!
