The trip is finally upon us. I’ve had my last stateside dialysis treatment, a very early one, starting at 5:30 AM. Since Tuesday is my regular first of the week, I had to take whatever slot was available on Monday. I guess that I won’t have any trouble falling asleep on the plane

We leave for the airport after lunch. The next pages/posts will be by numbered days, with days 1 and 2 will be combined because of the vagaries of the International Date Line. For purposes of this trip Tuesday, October 3 will only exist in theory, or in dreamland.

If that isn’t confusing enough, on the return trip to New York, according to the clock (but not our bodies) we will land before we take off. After all, the missing day of the outward flight has to be returned to the calendar.

Nevertheless, when we land down under, we will be beginning Day #3, Wednesday, October 4.
